"This is exactly what I have been looking for: easy, slow, informative!" Patti Brougham

Does this sound familiar?

You downloaded Procreate full of good intentions. You opened it, saw a screen full of tiny icons, clicked on something called blend modes, wondered what on earth it did... and closed it again.

Maybe you've tried a few YouTube tutorials. They went too fast, skipped the bit you were stuck on, or assumed you already knew what a layer was.

And quietly, a little voice started saying: maybe digital art just isn't for me.

Honestly? It is. You just haven't been shown it in a way that makes sense yet.

Confidence comes from doing

For a long time, I believed confidence had to come before action. What I've learned is that confidence grows every time we show up.

That's exactly how this course works. You won't be asked to be "good" at anything. You'll take one small step, then another, each one short enough to fit around real life. And somewhere along the way, you'll notice Procreate doesn't feel scary any more.

With me, Procreate becomes a space to play, explore and grow.

If Procreate has been sitting on your iPad unused…

Meet your Teacher

Hi, I’m Liz Ross

I’m a Manchester‑based digital and mixed‑media artist, workshop facilitator, podcast host and mum to three wonderfully creative children who remind me every day that art isn’t just something we make. It’s something we feel. Watching them create in their own ways has taught me that creativity lives in all of us, and it’s deeply tied to our wellbeing.

My own return to creativity came after losing my sister to cancer. I found myself searching for a way to process the grief that words couldn’t hold. I was fortunate to find a charity offering art workshops, and those gentle sessions became a lifeline, a space where I could breathe, reconnect, and slowly rediscover joy.

Art helped me heal. It helped me feel like myself again.

What began as quiet moments with a sketchbook grew into bold, intuitive artwork, a thriving print shop, and a calling to create supportive spaces where others can explore self‑expression without pressure or perfection.

When I discovered Procreate, something clicked.

It offered freedom; the freedom to experiment, to undo, to play, to try again. As a busy mum and artist, that felt like magic. No mess, no pressure, no fear of “ruining” anything. Just pure creative possibility.

Before all this, I spent 15 years as a primary school teacher, so breaking things down into small, clear, friendly steps is what I do best.

Today, I help women trust their voice, embrace imperfection, and reconnect with creativity as a part of their everyday wellbeing.

This course is the gentle, confidence‑building starting point I wish I’d had when I first opened Procreate and I can’t wait for us to explore it together.
